Celebrating Diversity through Dance is a multicultural workshop series that invites children and adults to participate in the many traditions of dance from around the world. At Young Dancers in Repertory, we improve the lives of nearly 4,000 children and youth—every year—by teaching life skills through dance and arts programming.  Young Dancers in Repertory is also serving over 240 students in afterschool programming. You can help by joining us on Saturday, December 14th at 6PM at the YDR Center for Dance Studies. 5602 5th Avenue. Businesses and individuals can help to make this event a success by contributing an item to be used as a raffle prize.  All of the funds raised from this event will be used to bolster and support Young Dancers in Repertory’s 28-year history of serving youth in the Borough of Brooklyn.

Center for Dance Studies Summer 2013 Dance schedule is 4 weeks from July 9 to August 1 on Tuesday and Thursday - CREATIVE KIDS: Ages 3 1/2 to 4 from 9:00am to 10:00am. Cost: $80.00 and SUMMER ARTS BLAST for ages 5 to 7 and 8 to 14 from 10:00am to 1:00pm in Dance, Drama, and Arts and Crafts. Pricing options are 2 says a week for 4 weeks is $275, 1 day a week for 4 weeks is $150, and 2 days a week for one week is $80 per week.

Young Dancers in Repertory will hold auditions for its pre-professional touring ensemble of teenage dancers on Saturday, June 1, at 4:00PM. Dancers should come prepared in classical dance attire consisting of a leotard and tights. Dancers should prepare a solo no longer than one minute in length with music prepared. Join us at YDR's Center for Dance Studies on Tuesday, May 14th at 5:00PM for an opportunity to view an Open Rehearsal of the 360 Dance Company in rehearsal for Pauline Koner's acclaimed "The Shining Dark". The dance is being rehearsed for a program which will take place at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan in honor of the 100th Anniversary of Modern Dance choreographer Pauline Koner.

360 Dance Company was founded in 2006 by Artistic Director Martin Lofsnes. 360 Dance Company's mission is to present classic modern dance masterpieces juxtaposed with original contemporary dance works, in order to simultaneously preserve and develop the modern dance lineage.

Dancing Through Brooklyn Parks

YDR's Dancing Through Brooklyn Parks provides children ages 5-14 with a FREE dance class and demonstration at three different parks in Brooklyn. National Dance Week Kick Off Events

In honor of National Dance Week, YDR will hold several workshops, classes, showings and lecture demonstrations in a multitude of dance disciplines. Come try a flamenco, east Indian, yoga or belly dance class, learn about the history of modern dance, and watch up and coming YDR teaching artists perform with their professional dance companies. On 4/21/12 try Modern Dance, 4/22/12 try East Indian Dance, 4/23/12 try Salsa Dance, 4/24/12 try Yoga, 4/25/12 experience Egyptian Belly Dancing, 4/26/12 is Ballet, 4/28/12 is Modern Dance with Performance and round off the week with Flamenco Dance on 4/29/12.
